i can’t send a mass email to my students anymore. It keeps telling me i reached my limit for the hour. Ideas

Even though I have not sent any emails, it tells me i have reached my limit for the hour to prevent abuse of the system. I was able to send them out before. These emails are for my students to let them now about my classes.

I don’t know how to fix your program, but I have a way around it incase no one else knows either..
Try emailing just one trusted student and asking them to foreward your notes to everyone else. Include a list of the other emails.
If you need to, open a free email account with Yahoo to do this.

You could always have an alternate email adress.

I’d talk to your system administrator. What might have happened is that all the sent emails are saved by the system and that is taking up the space on your network. Get them to delete the old messages… your mail starts working again.

the amount you are trying to send all at once is more than they allow in an hour, say you can only send 50 an hour and you’re trying to send 100 it will give you that message even if you haven’t sent any yet since what you are sending is over the limit, you may have to break your mass emails down to a few groups, cut it in half and try, if it works then just wait an hour and send to the 2nd half
