I’m having a party – what good online RSVP system is there?

I’m holding an event with a lot of people, some close friends, but many friends of friends. I don’t want to have to manually sift and reply to emails for whether people are going or not going, or handle phone calls. Are there any automated RSVP systems out there that are good and that you have had experience with? I’m looking for something that handles an event invitation, emailing out the invitations, and an automated system that lets people enter their information if they are going.

I would then like to be able to easily see who has rsvp’ed and get a quick count of the number of people attending. Then as the event approaches, I would like to send out a reminder to those attending.

I often receive invitations via Evites. It keeps a running tab for everyone to see of who has replied (yes, no and maybe) and a space for invitee’s comments. It also sends out reminders, and (I think) it links to mapquest.

I generally use it allows you to create and send invitations, and it collects your RSVPs for you. You can even set it to email you whenever someone RSVPs for your event. With evite you can also send reminders to your guest list, either to everyone invited, or to those who have stated they will or might attend.

Evite.com is free and you can track your guests and attach pictures afterwords all for NOTHING.

have someone in your family take on the task. Etiquette suggests that any invitations be sent by snail mail with a return card for the RSVP (be sure to put a stamp on the return envelope).

collect the incoming return cards and phone those who have not responded by the date you set.
