Do you think that Virginia Tech dropped the ball?

There was a 2 1/2 hour gap between the first shooting and the mass email that went out. An email that was sent just before the 2nd shooting began. In your opinion, do you think that they should have done things differently? Do you think that they did the best that they could under the cirumstances? What do you think would have been the best course of action?

No. I think some fool foreign kid, who should not have been in this country, went on a shooting spree. If you’re going to get to the root of the problem, why are foreigners going to our schools? Why do our tax dollars pay for them? Shouldn’t they get education in their own countries? Do they not take away seats that should go to Americans?

…..KM is ignorant and a perfect example of how people always blame something else….
Virginia Tech should have been able to handle this better since it wasn’t that long ago that they had had a similar incident….

In today’s violent climate — regardless of WHERE - regardless of the ELITENESS of schools, colleges, etc. - regardless of ANYTHING btw, I feel that each act of violence be treated as a terrorist act. This tragedy was not considered ‘terrorist’– however, as we learn more and more about the killer, we realize that he held a certain and deadly hatred towards his perceived ‘enemies’.
and so, he set out to kill them….and then he killed himself.
and no. He didn’t blow himself up….
He chose a more direct ‘hit’–he didn’t care who he killed, as long as others went along with him.
Sound familiar?

I think Virginia Tech did the best that they could with the information they had at the time. Sure we can all see what they should have done after the fact, but really, in the utter confusion and shock they must’ve been experiencing, I am sure they did the best they could. A small-town school like that probably takes it for granted that they are safe but really, we’re all vulnerable.
Unfortunately, yesterday will be a serious wake-up call to every kind of business, institution, university, congregation to amp up security.
