how did this videographer attain this film like color?



I know he is using a prosumer sony fx-1,but can you do this with just a regular camcorder thru post editing software like premiere or FECP (mac)? or is there an plugin to do this (software wise), I tried emailing him but got no answer, (duhh,its hi secret!)

    Looks like he is using the 24 fps (frames per second) setting to make it look more film-like. As far as the color correction goes, there are many filters available. I don’t think it was one particular filter.

    The process is similar as with using Photoshop for a photo: determine the correction for highlights, midtones and shadows and add color enhancement (increase/decrease a color channel in shadows/midtones/highlights) as well as hue and saturation.

    I only looked at the beginning of the clip. The focus was on the white jacket, the blue sky with white clouds and the saturated greens.

    One suggestion: take a clip and experiment with color processing. There is no right or wrong way. You may want to think about what to tackle first: overall brightness, contrast followed by color adjustments. Allways keep a digital copy of the original to compare against. Use a color-calibrated monitor and if possible, preview on a production monitor.
