Whats the most appropriate way of emailing somone to confirm they received your resume and cover letter?

A lot of the ads I am responding to are not providing telephone numbers in order for me to call and confirm whether they received my resume via fax or email, and in some cases I cannot even find a phone number with a online search.

In a situation in which I emailed me resume to a place that I have no phone number for, I was thinking of emailing the address a few days later to confirm whether they received my resume, but I seem to be blanking on the proper way to write such an email.

Could you possibly give me some pointers on ways that I can email someone asking them to confirm they got my email without it sounding completely awkward? Thank you!

    Be friendly!
Make it sound like just another thank you letter.

Thank you so much for meeting with me the other day. I also appreciate you taking the time to read my resume …

    People like NICE emails.
    Don’t harrass them though.
Send one and then wait a couple days.

    I would write:
    Dear human resources,
I was very excited to see your job opening and am very interested in the clerical position. (or whatever the name of the position is). I am writing to confirm that you recieved my resume. Please let me know at your convenience. I hope to hear from you soon to set up an interview.

    Thank You,
    (your name)
    (phone number)
