Care Package/Letters to Soldiers question?
Posted by admin | Filed under Military
A man in my community is going to leave for Iraq sometime in the month of April, maybe May. He is not someone I know very well however, a friend is getting together a care package for him. They will be emailing a list of items for people who want to donate to the care package.
Here is my question. Is it possible to send a bunch of cards to the soldiers there, via the care package? Maybe get everyone to send a card or two and they can be passed out or given to someone there who can disperse them?
Hmmm, I thought my question was clear. There is already a list of care package items to be emailed for us to purchase donate. The cards are just an added something to what already will be sent.

yes, this is done quite often. just put them in the box and ask the person recieving the package to pass them out.

IMHO, they’d probably appreciate stuff that they actually USE more than just a bunch of cards.
Baby wipes (no kidding, great for cleaning private parts when bath ain’t possible), disposable razors, HeadBlades ™ (for shaving heads), normal toiletry items like toothbrush, toothpaste, and whatnot… alkaline batteries (they’re often used in radios or gunsights), and much more are always appreciated. You can always write on Post-it! ™ note on the actual items.

yes that is very possible even if you dont do it through him there are several differnt people you can do it through like the VFW, American Legion, and USO also websites like anysoldier.com and soldiersangels.com im sure if you get in contact with any of them they can lead you in the right direction of what you are looking to do..and also i just want to say thank you for your support it was the best feeling to get a letter/card from a total stranger thanking us and just letting us know people back home care..youre doing a great thing

sure….every one loves getting mail while deployed…
When I was in the desert my mom would send a few things in my packages to hand out to my buddies…
