online friends?

ok. through this site, many people have emailed me and asked if i was willing to be their online friend. i agree and we start emailing each other. it goes really well for 4-5 days. long mails about oneself, interests and all. then suddenly they stop emailing me. its abrupt. i still send mails and all but i never get a reply back. its so heartbreaking. thay tell u that they’re looking for a friend and are really lonely. then when i reply, they are overjoyed. then, after some days, they stop completely and i keep waiting for a reply , coz i like to make friends and no one keeps in touch. its happened 7 times. i feel miserable… why do people do that? i am still waiting for them to send me mails and they’re just like they dont exist. i even send them mails asking if evrythigs allright and why they’re not replying. and i have NEVER written anything bad or abusive in my mails. then why do people do that?? i am feeling really bad.

I had a friend I met on here, and we use to email everyday, just general chit chat, and then he just stopped all of a sudden, I know its hard to get over it when you have became friends, but you will meeet new friends as Yahoo! answers is so popular!

maybe cos they aren’t really that interested…
guys might only be interested in *** or dirty talk or naughty pics…
if you aren’t doing that, they aren’t interested anymore…
online is a fantasy… don’t take it so seriously… meet more people in the real world…

You can’t get to close to some e-mail people.I think they write to so many new people they put the older ones on the back burner.Don’t take it to heart.I don’t think they really mean to hurt you.

online chat is fantasy some try to pretend to be sweat but actually they r fake some are interested in talking rubbish ,sex and etc u didn’t did it that’s why they might not be interested in talking with u now try to make friends not online in real world.

I agree with some of the other answers. Some people looking to chat only want to talk dirty… I’ve met some girls on Yahoo like that, so it isn’t just guys. If you refuse to talk about sex, they don’t want to talk to you anymore.
Another reason: age. Sometimes I get emails from really young girls… I don’t mind helping them with their friends/relationships, but chatting with them can be hard because they’re so much younger than I am. However, I would never ignore them… I always respond.
I’m always open to new friends. Unless they want to talk dirty… They can find someone else.
