How do you deal with confrontation at work with a bully?

there was a work function that some less popular people weren’t excluded from, I dealt with this by sending out a mass sarcastic email. Now the bully has it out for me.

dont worry about it unless he assualts you physically/sexually. if he does, report it. for now, try and reason with him/her. the best way is to take it out on words

When you speak (which is not if you are spoken to first by the bully)..wait a pause ……wait a pause..slightly incline your chin up a little …look them in the eye…..answer only what is absolutely necessary.
Talk about work issues only …
Do not be sarcastic back to the bully, that is like a lead in for what He She wants…dont give it to them.
wait, pause, wait , pause, clearly think what you will say..do not elaborate..
I had this same thing happen to me this month..it is not fun…

another way is to pretend in your mind as a practice that the bully is being nice to you and how you would react to that…
pretend how they are acting like a bully to you and react to that in your mind practice that..
(i read all this on a self help exercise online somewhere..)
    Good luck..
    I am behind you 100percent..
Wish I could be there to coach you..!!!
    Bravo…even before it is necessary!!!

Be overly polite and courteous to this bully. The contrast between your behaviors will be noticed. In time he will stop because you are quietly revealing what an a** he is.

hey the best thing you can do is try as best you can to be your self do not avoid the person that falls into their trap if you 2 are trapped on an elevator or in a room together. quietly and calmly ask him or her if there is anything you can talk about regarding the problem if the anger arises in their voice or emotions do not let fear grip you tell the person you are sorry and if there is anything (within reason) you can do to make it up to them.
