Online Dating - is it for real or only play?

Met a really great guy thru an online personals 5 months ago. We met once, I thought it was fantastic yet his emailing certainly slowed down - yet he does flirt and sends kisses thru his notes. Is it typical in this internet world to flirt like this and not take any kind of internet meeting thing seriously? I so fell for him yet found recently he kept his online profile as single and even updates it. So am I foolish or what? Just seeing what I want to see? Should I stop writing him so I don’t get hurt? Neither one of us can make the road trip for another ‘in life’ meeting….so should I stop this now before it hurts more??? (just to add we are both over 35 yrs old and I am so new to online personals - I took myself off the site after the first month of talking)

you will encounter lots of weirdos and nothing will pan out. better to meet new people through friends.

There is no simple answer on this.. As all men on the personals are different..but I wouldnt take my name out until you have both agreed on a commitment..make sure you tell him that as well.. That way he has a limitation if he wants you.
Because dating is harder when we get older. They jump in too quick on what they want in the first date or second. But by holding out..you weed through the users when you dont put out. Date for a while.. be picky. take your time.. you deserve the best and now we are at an age.. that we can figure out exactly what we want in a relationship. .and dont settle.. keep dating till you find him..Can cut the bull by dating by referral of friends.

My friend has married someone from a millionaire dating site called millionairecupid.com last month. He told me he has no other way to find a perfect lover just like her. So I think some quality dating sites will work.
