Is there a better alternative?

Is there a certain program? I know how to upload pics off the camera but the videos I’m not sure. Is it easier to just make a personal website for that purpose, like to communicate with long distance family?
Does emailing photos to yourself from your cell phone cost money?

Help with emailing pics from razr to computer?
Posted by admin | Filed under Cameras
I tried emailing pics I took from my razr to my computer and when it starts sending it says Message 1 unable to send I tried resending but that doesn’t help.
I followed these steps I found at another website:
Send Pictures To Your PC Using Email
You can email any photo from your Razr phone to your PC. First select the picture using the following menu option on your phone:
Menu — Multimedia — Pictures
Scroll through the pictures until you find the one you want to send, and then press Menu — Send in Message. Press Ok and the phone will display a list of your contacts, with the first item being [One Time Entry].
Select [One Time Entry] as the recipient, and just enter an email address instead of a phone number.
But keep in mind that it’ll cost you about 10 cents per KB of picture size depending on your calling plan and wireless carrier, which is about 75 cents (most pictures are about 75KB). That can add up fast!

Camera+Vista? Help please?

I have a Nikon Coolpix 5200 camera. When I plug it into my computer I get the Found new hardware message…when I click on find and install driver it comes up with nothing.
I went on the Nikon site and I couldn’t find any information about their drivers. And the Vista compatibility page just gives a bunch of updated software. The only thing I remember ever installing on my old computer was Picture Project so I tried installing that but it still won’t read my camera.
So I tried emailing their tech support.
My message:
I have just upgraded to Vista and when I connect my camera it says it needs to download the device driver from the disc that came with it.The only disc I can seem to find is PictureProject. And I’m also assuming whatever the device driver that came with it is, it won’t be compatible with Vista.
(continued in added details…)
I can’t find anything on this site that says anything about the device driver so I downloaded Picture Project. I installed it but I’m still getting the same message about not having the device driver.
The reply I got was:
A device driver is used for older communication as your Reference manual Cd covers. With Vista this is not needed just set the camera to PTP and it will be seen.
If you use Windows 98SE, ME or 2000 you use Mass Storage and drivers.
Thank you once again for your support on Nikon Products. We hope that we have addressed your concerns.
Please feel free to contact us for more information.
My initial thought was Wha…? so I went on the Device Manager to see if I could do anything from there and it seems my camera is already set to PTP.
So….anyone know why my camera and computer seem to **** each other? And what I can do about it?
*reads over my question*….rather long, thank you for taking the time to answer ^__^
Looking for a simple-to-uploademail-photos digital camera?

Looking to buy a digital camera (gift) for an older relative who is not computer savvy. Not worried about megapixels because anything will be better than the 2MP she has now. Her biggest difficulty is with uploading photos to PC and emailing them. I need a camera and/or software that will make uploading and emailing photos without converting or resizing photos simple. I’d like suggestions/reviews on actual cameras (not guides or web links). Thanks a bunch!
