Whats the most appropriate way of emailing somone to confirm they received your resume and cover letter?
Posted by admin | Filed under Other - Careers Employment
A lot of the ads I am responding to are not providing telephone numbers in order for me to call and confirm whether they received my resume via fax or email, and in some cases I cannot even find a phone number with a online search.
In a situation in which I emailed me resume to a place that I have no phone number for, I was thinking of emailing the address a few days later to confirm whether they received my resume, but I seem to be blanking on the proper way to write such an email.
Could you possibly give me some pointers on ways that I can email someone asking them to confirm they got my email without it sounding completely awkward? Thank you!
How do I get a reference? My first job interview?
Posted by admin | Filed under Other - Careers Employment
I’m going for my first interview. I was asked to bring a reference list. I’m thinking to ask my professors to give me a reference (I’m a recent graduate). I’m emailing them to request reference. But I dont know if I should be requesting the reference letters? Or should I just say Can you be my reference? What’s the difference between being my reference and writing me a reference letter? I have only two days left to the interview. I don’t know if I have time to ask them to write letters. Please help!
When emailing a resume and cover letter, what should I put in the actual email itself?
Posted by admin | Filed under Other - Careers Employment
In other words, what wording or phrases should be in the body of the email? Should I remain as ultra-professional as my cover letter (ie. Dear Ms. Brown:) or is business casual acceptable (Ms. Brown,)? Or even casual yet professional (Kathy,). The below is what I normally put in the email, but I am just not sure. Any ideas? How long/short should it be? What should be included? What should be left out?
Dear Hiring Manager (if name is unknown, otherwise Dear Ms. Brown):
The following attachment is for the Administrative opportunity at your company. I have over five years of experience and am anxious to hear more about your organization! I appreciate your consideration, and hope I have the opportunity to speak with you further. Thank you.
My Name
My Phone
My Email
I really want to make the email itself stand out and POP. Otherwise, they may delete and not read it at all. I live in Michigan and the job market is aggressive and tough. There are more people needing jobs than we have jobs available. Recruiters are getting thousands and thousands of resumes for maybe only one position. I want them to be interested enough to want to open my attachment.

What do this means in terms of emailing my resume and their required format?

MS Word document, specifically with the .doc extension?
I’m suppose to email my resume to a potential employer and I’m sorry however I don’t understand what they mean by specifically with the .doc extension. If you can shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance……
Hiring Freeze on a Job?
Posted by admin | Filed under Other - Careers Employment
Has anybody experience a hiring freeze before? I went to a job interview about six months ago. They told me that they liked me a lot and we got into having an interview with the supervisor i was working for and the hiring manager on the same day. They even discussed benefits, salary and where I would be working in the building. After that, they said they were going to give me an offer letter in two weeks.
After one week, the manager said he sent my offer letter to his manager for review. But another week went by and then they said they are stuck in a hiring freeze. I’ve been emailing and getting in touch with them once every three weeks for the past 5 months to see if the hiring freeze has been lifted, but they keep telling me that it is still in effect and told me to hang on and thanked me for being patient.
Do you guys believe I still have a chance for this position? It’s with a large software company. I was so sure that I had the job, that I didn’t look for another job that time (my fault).
What should I write in a mass email informing co-workers of my name change?
Posted by admin | Filed under Other - Careers Employment
I need to send out an email to all my co-workers (only been with the company for 2 1/2 months so not everyone knows me) letting them know that I have changed my name (and email has changed) due to my recent marriage. What should I write? Thanks!!
I was told by my boss to send out a mass email, otherwise I would not do so…which is why I really have no clue what to write
