mass emailing

New to the whole online dating world (wonder if I am too old fashioned for it).

When emailing someone met thru the online personals, is it typical to be flirty with more than one person? This guy and I have been emailing a lot for 5 months now, he is very nice and we met once- which I thought went great.

He says a lot of nice things and all and ends his notes with a kiss yet stays as single on the personals site. Normal or … ? Should I consider it just fun play and nothing more? I think he is fantastic and he is not too far away but am thinking now that maybe he only writes to be nice, or enjoys the ‘risk free’ world of online chat and Nothing more. (sigh)
I should add - we live about a full days drive from one anotherr, neither of us in the position to drive at the time being. Hmmm I guess I should not take it all as serious as I have been. Bummer…..

Met a really great guy thru an online personals 5 months ago. We met once, I thought it was fantastic yet his emailing certainly slowed down - yet he does flirt and sends kisses thru his notes. Is it typical in this internet world to flirt like this and not take any kind of internet meeting thing seriously? I so fell for him yet found recently he kept his online profile as single and even updates it. So am I foolish or what? Just seeing what I want to see? Should I stop writing him so I don’t get hurt? Neither one of us can make the road trip for another ‘in life’ meeting….so should I stop this now before it hurts more??? (just to add we are both over 35 yrs old and I am so new to online personals - I took myself off the site after the first month of talking)

i have been emailing this guy i met online (at the personals) for the past week, 1 or 2 long emails a day. he responds and everything. how come he doesn ask for my number or ask to hang out already? we have exchanged many pics and everything and he is very complimetray with everything…i mean, wouldnt he just stop emailing if he didnt want to eventually meet? we only live 15-20mins. away?
